Antibalas was conceived of in 1997 by Martín Perna and began performing in New York in the spring of 1998.
The group has recorded six full length albums on the Ninja Tune, Anti-, Ropeadope and Daptone labels. The group has performed over 2000 concerts on five continents.
Their seventh album, "The Fu Chronicles" is forthcoming on Daptone records in late 2019 / early 2020.
