Circus Diablo started as a no-agenda project band for former Cult member Billy Morrison (also of Camp Freddy) and current Cult member Billy Duffy, along with Ricky Warwick (formerly of the Almighty), Brett Scallions (formerly of Fuel), and, originally, drummer Jeremy Colson (formerly with Steve Vai's band).
The bandmembers found that their chemistry was good enough to take the project to the next level, and in early 2006 they brought Cult, Guns N' Roses, and Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum on board for some studio dates. Within three weeks, the band had amassed a good pile of songs and, on April 29, 2007, Circus Diablo signed a deal with Koch Records to release their debut album. By that summer the song "Loaded" shot up the radio charts and peaked in the Top 20. A slot on the 2007 Ozzfest tour topped off the year for the group. ~ J. Scott McClintock
