Créé en 1992 et avec plus de 500 concerts, plusieurs enregistrements et de prestigieuses premières parties (Edgar Winter, Brothers Brooks, Lucky Peterson, Poppa Chubby, Tom Principato, The Dusters, John Mayall….), General Store fort d’une solide expérience poursuit sa route vers les festivals et clubs concerts avec la même passion: celle de séduire avant tout un large public. Affirmant les influences des Allman Brothers, Gov’t Mule et autres Black Crowes, General Store comblera amateurs de Blues et inconditionnels de rock. Emmené par Will Lester (guitare, chant), Phil Sun (basse), Bob Franks (Orgue Hammond, Piano, Keyboards) et Pascal Boy (Drums), le groupe poursuit sa quête d’un Blues Rock inspiré et sans concession. Résolument tourné vers l’avenir, General Store propose son nouvel album Vision Of Diversity (20 Avril 2007). Paru sous le label Brennus Music, l'album a reçu de nombreuses chroniques élogieuses et une presse enthousiaste. Toujours entre Vintage et moderne, c'est du Blues Rock du 21ème Siècle! Entrez dans l’univers d’un groupe qui a su prendre le meilleur du Blues et du Rock, où l’instinct, l’âme et la tradition sont présents dans chaque note. Who said "Old School?" A paraitre, "Somewhere in the Middle" nouvel album 10 titres. .. General Store are a french 4-piece rock band located in the Bordeaux area. On their new CD "Vision Of Diversity" they've reached international standard, not only looking at the production of the album, but with their further improved songwriting and musical skills as well.They now appear to be playing in the same league as Gov't Mule, Lynyrd Skynyrd and newer Southern bands like Tishamingo and Liquid Groove Mojo. As much as the mentioned influences of Mule and Skynyrd are pretty obvious on their CD, General Store never simply copy them, but add their very own musical flavour. Led by singer/guitarist Will Lester, whose guitar tone and style is an amalgam of that of Warren Haynes and Gary Rossington, the band rips through an 11-song selection of riff-rockers and midtempo numbers, that barely has a filler! Bob Franks ..s adds a lot of pretty cool B-3 hammond sounds to the music - and the rhythm section of Phil Sun on bass and Urban Chad on drums rocks top solid! GENERAL STORE machen Bluesrock, schweren Jamrock, südstaateninfizierten Rockblues'n'Boogie, und damit machen sie sich zur Zielscheibe für die Anhänger einer Band: GOV'T MULE. ?Hoffentlich sind die Muleheads willens und tolerant genug, eine weitere Band in ihr Abendgebet aufzunehmen, denn GENERAL STORE hauen ganz gewaltig auf den Putz. Dicke Produktion, dicke Gitarren, dicke Keyboards, sehr dicke Songs. Und durchaus solche, die Warren Haynes so nie machen würde, die aber phänomenal rocken und mit Sicherheit auch jedem SAVOY TRUFFLE- und MOLLY HATCHET- und (early) BLACK CROWES-Lover einen Feiertag bereiten werden. Children In A Box, Singing On My Way und Big Natural seien hier genannt. Das ist großartiger Vorwärts-Rock mit maximal intensiv kreisender Gitarre und, im zweiten und dritten Fall, einem unwiderstehlichen Drecksack-Boogie im Hintergrund. Und es sind zwei Mal sechs plus dreieinhalb Minuten für die Galerie. Oder fürs Fitnessstudio. Alleine der Bass verbrennt 17.000 Kalorien pro Minute. Rrrrrr, that's Rock & Roll. ?Wenn gejammt wird, es sind diese tief durchdringenden Brachial-Konzept-Jams, dann heavy, ausgiebig und präzise (Who Kills The King?, A Better World, No Less No More), zwischendurch wird höchst britisch gebluest (Always By My Side sollten sich die Überlebenden der Ära YARDBIRDS ff. konzentriert anhören), zum Schluss texanisch der Cold Time Shuffle gebolzt. ?Insgesamt eine außergewöhnliche Bandleistung, eine Produktion auf höchstem Niveau und Songs mit maximaler Durchschlagskraft.
