"He's dead."

Hub Moore has been writing and performing music for a while now. Back in the1980s he was a member of the Boston based band Three Colors along with Chris Harford, and future Morphine sax player Dana Colley. The group, which also included Hub's brother Max and drummer Barry Stringfellow, was together for six plus years and played many, many live shows on the East Coast of the USA as well as releasing two E.P.s on vinyl only -as was the custom of the day. They went their seperate ways after a brief stint in London England in which they spent six months touring, recording, and wishing that the pubs stayed open later than 11 pm.

Hub then relocated to Brooklyn, New York where he formed The Great Outdoors, a four piece pop/rock group that played in the clubs of downtown Manhattan for several years in the early 90s. It was during this time that he first began collaborating with film director Hal Hartley, who included the group in his film, "Surviving Desire" doing a live performance in a street scene. Hub disbanded the band before they had a chance to release any recordings -the only songs that did make it onto CD were four tracks on the compilation, "Songs from the films of Hal Hartley" which was released in 1992. One of these four, titled "Walk Away", was also included on the 1999 Independent Film Channel compilation "In Your Ear".

After the dissolution of The Great Outdoors, Hub continued to write and perform in the New York area -working with a number of local musicians as well as doing solo acoustic shows. Having recorded with numerous different players and producers -with mixed results- he eventually turned to his old friend and one time bandmate Chris Harford, which lead to the formation of HUB.

The first HUB CD was recorded over a period of months in 1996 at Stonybrook studio in Hopewell, New Jersey. After it's original indie release on Harford's Black Shepherd label, it was picked up by Slash/London Records and re-released with two additional tracks and some new artwork in 1998. The group toured as a five piece which included Moore (voice and guitar), Harford (bass and voice), Andrew Weiss on keys and effects, Justin Cox on drums, and Sharief Hobley on guitar. This group played numerous shows in the NY, NJ, PA and New England areas and went as far as Seattle on the strength of radio play of the first single "Evil Twin".

The group went back into the studio in 1999 to record the follow up CD which would eventually become "Daylight". During this time HUB performed as a three piece, with Mark Spencer on bass and Justin Cox on drums. The group continues to evolve, both in the studio and in live performance, as Moore has been introducing more samples and other effects into the mix and is always writing new material. Stay tuned...
