    .. .. .. .. A diverse musician, the bansuri player Julia Ohrmann has performed this year in Bombay (India) besides Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia at Shanmukhananda Hall and with flutist Himanshu Nanda at Swarli Center, has appeared at the International Buddhist Film Festival (IBFF) in Cineteca National, Mexico City, and in the Barbican Center, London in live music performances for the soundtrack of the silent movie “Prem Sanyas”. Her recent solo performances took Julia to diverse stages like the Mandala Yoga Ashram in Llansadwrn, U.K., or the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam. .. .. Born in Germany, Julia started her music studies at an early age in piano and classical flute. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in musicology at Sorbonne University, Paris, she continued her studies on classical flute with George Allirol (Orchestre de Paris) at the municipal conservatory in Paris. Later on she studied bansuri (Indian bamboo flute) in the Department of Indian Music, Codarts Hoogeschool voor de Kunsten, and at Vrindaban Gurukul, Bombay, under the tutelage of the Indian flute virtuoso Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia. .. .. In 2007, Julia has toured the United Kingdom with the world famous musicians Pandit H. Chaurasia, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma and Jogesh Samsi, where she performed at places such as Cadogan Hall (London), The Lowry (Manchester), and Oxford University Church of St. Mary (Oxford). BBC broadcasted their performance for the opening of the Asian Music Centre (London), she also performed live for the program Equinox of Radio France, and for the Dutch TV channels Frije Geluiden and OHM, Chatney.nl. The French spiritual magazine Sources has recently accorded her a special interview. .. .. Her multiple trips around the world (Egypt, Morocco, Réunion Island, Guadeloupe, Brazil, Hungary, India, Zimbabwe) have stimulated her enthusiasm for different musical cultures. Julia also performs with the Brazilian Choro ensemble “Aljuma” on the silver flute, next to Alvaro Rovira Ruiz (guitar), Matthias Haffner (percussion), Marijn van der Linden (cavaquinho). .. .. Julia is specialized in improvisation in Indian music and is currently teaching bansuri at SKVR music school in Rotterdam.

    Hallo Juia,
    Ik was onlangs op je optreden in den Haag in de Regentenkamer en was zeer onder de indruk van het concert.
    Ik heb ook wat nummers beluisterd op myspace maar helaas is de knop 'buy 'niet opgelicht. Is daar een reden voor ? Moet ik dat via een andere weg doen? Bedankt om mij even op de weg te zetten.

    Hello Julia, great tracks and fantastic sounds here..I love Indian music very much. 
    Raga Bhairavi is particularly visual, flute and sitar together are really involving and magical.
    I never thought flute worked so good within Indian atmosphere...now I'm sure of that. You play flute in a so wonderful way, in perfect harmony with Indian instruments.
