Pascal Le Pennec
Composer – Pascal Le Pennec studied at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, where he obtained the Superior Diplomas in harmony, counterpoint,orchestration, classical accordion and chamber music.

Pascal then set up two classical-accordion duets: one with Guy Ferla, with whom he won the prize of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation and that of the Cziffra Foundation, and one with Philippe Borecek.

In November 2012, Pascal won the SACEM Prize for Best Original Movie Score at the International Film Festival inTübingen/Stuttgart (Germany) for the soundtrack of Le Tableau (The Painting), an animation feature film by Jean-François Laguionie, and in 2013, the CNC Prize (Centre National du Cinéma) for the music of Les Souvenirs, an animation short film by Renaud Martin.

▪ As a composer, arranger and/or instrumentalist, he has worked extensively for the theatre: at first, he worked with artists such as Pierre Romans (at the Amandiers theatre in Nanterre), Michèle Guigon,Pierre Santini and, finally, for five years (2003-2008), with Jérôme Deschamps and Macha Makeïeff.

Simultaneously, he worked as an accompanist to a range of artists, including Régine, Allain Leprest, Romain Didier,Philippe Meyer, and Hélène Delavault.

▪ Pascal has been composing music for the cinema and television since 2005 (short films and feature films):

-Cache-Cache (2005), a feature-length movie by Yves Caumon, was featured at the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs (2005 Cannes Film Festival);

-Le Soleil des Ternes / Trilogie des Limbes (2009), a short film by Eric Bu, won the France 2 Award as part of the Short Film Corner at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival;

-La Fille de sa Mère / Trilogie des Limbes (2010), a short film by Eric Bu, was co-produced and distributed by French TV company France 2;

-Nathan / Trilogie des Limbes (2010), a short film by Eric Bu, was distributed by France 2 (2010);

-Plan Biz – Saison 1 (2010), by Stanislas Graziani, was given the prize for Best Web Series at the Festival of Luchon in 2012;

-Le Tableau (2011), an animation feature film by Jean-François Laguionie, was nominated for the Césars Awards in 2012 and was awarded the prize for Best Original Movie Score at the International Film Festival in Tübingen/Stuttgart (Germany) in 2012;

-Les Souvenirs (2012), a short film (animation) by Renaud Martin, was awarded a prize by Portuguese TV company RTP2 at the CINENIMA International Film Festival of Espinho in 2012.
