Blues may have first originated in the U.S. during the early 20th century, but by 21st century, the musical form had long since transcended all regional boundaries, as evidenced by bluesy rockers, Lipstick Traces.
Hailing from Belgium, the five man group is comprised of members Eddy De Smul (vocals, harmonica, guitars), Bjorn Van Gompel (bass, backing vocals), Jochen Eeckhout (guitars), Bart de Naeghel (guitars, backing vocals), Dirk Coussement (guitars, mandolin), and Dirk Ryckaert (drums, percussion). Containing instantly recognizable elements of such renowned blues rockers as the Rolling Stones and Stevie Ray Vaughan in their sound, the band originally formed during the early '90s and issued several singles shortly thereafter. The sextet began issuing full-lengths during the latter part of the decade, including 1997's Out of Sight, while a sophomore effort (titled Tac Tic Too was recorded but ultimately shelved. 2002 saw the release of Shower Diaries, which was supported by an extensive European tour. ~ Greg Prato
