    ...... .... .... Some definite funk for Fela -- not of the Afro variety, but pretty darn great nonetheless! The Afro Jam version is heavy on electric piano at the start, then gives way to a bit of spoken vocals with a pretty righteous theme -- a nice dose of politics that then steps back for an especially great solo in the middle -- one that has the keyboards jamming with some fuzzier, freakier qualities that really live up to the "moog" in the artist's name! The dub version on the flipside is a bit more uptempo and house-oriented -- and "Lima Wessu" is a mellower tune with lyrics and some warmer African overtones (Dustygroove USA)..... Up to date afro beat with an electronic edge from French beatsmith Minimoogli inspired by and dedicated to the irreplaceable Fela Kuti. Flip for Mini's re edit of Youssou N dour .... Tubetracks start like with this groovesome tribute to the king of Afrobeat, Fela Kuti. 'A Funk For Fela' Afro Jam is a slow with spoken word track enlivened by tales of the exploitation of Africa from a Nubian princess, wonky keys and a Fela-style saxophone solo. Eric's dub adds 4x4 beats and a groovy bassline for a clubbier mix and the 12'' also features Minimoogli's subtle remix of Youssou N'Dour's 'Lima Weesu'.
