    POWER THE WORLD 1.3 billion people worldwide have no access to electricity. Without clean energy, children can not study after dark, parents cannot work once the sun sets and clinics cannot offer sustainable energy for all. MUSIC FOR RELIEF seeks to bring the music community together to maximize the efforts to create awareness and raise funds for those in need. MUSIC FOR RELIEF is comprised of musicians, fans, and music industry professionals. Founded by the band Linkin Park, Music for Relief is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing aid to victims of natural disasters and the prevention of such disasters. Since its inception in 2005, Music for Relief has raised over $5 million for the victims of the tsunami tragedy in Southeast Asia, hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Hanna, Gustav & Ike, Wildfires in Southern California and Victoria Australia, Cyclones Sidr and Aila in Bangladesh, Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar, the 5.12 earthquake in China, the cholera outbreak in Zimbabwe, a tornado in Mena, Arkansas, the 2010 Haiti Earthquake, China's Wenchuan Earthquake, Monsoon Flooding in Pakistan, and the 2011 Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan. MFR has organized a benefit concert featuring multi-platinum artists, sent musicians and volunteers to Southeast Asia and the U.S. Gulf Coast to help rebuild and donate supplies to people in need, and planted over 1 million trees to help reduce global warming.
