Bio
Parlovr is a sloppy pop band from Montreal, Canada consisting of Alex Cooper, Louis David Jackson and Jeremy Maccuish. It formed sometime between 2006-2007 with Alex and Louis writing all sorts of weird punk soul rock epic songs together in a small loft called 'the parlour'. They enlisted Jeremy and thereafter recorded and independently released a self-titled album in late 2008. It was subsequently released by Dine Alone in 2010. Known for their spastically energetic hair-flailing live show, they've toured around Canada, USA, Europe and China (really!) and have had fun opening up for Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys, Handsome Furs, We Are Wolves and Marnie Stern, among others. They have also played festivals like Pop Montreal, Osheaga, CMJ, SXSW, CMW, NXNE and FME. A 4-song EP called 'Hell/heaven/Big/Love' is their newest release (again, put out on Dine Alone Records) and the band is entering the studio again for a follow-up to their full-length. .. .... .. .. ..Some kind words about the album from some kind folks:.. .. ...."These three kooky dudes rock like it's 1996 with a raging and raw power-pop sound that bullies Fountains of Wayne around the playground." .. .. ..Spin.com.. .. ...."Parlovr (pronounced “parlor”), from Montreal, had songs that started out as precise pop constructions — guitar lines and vocal hooks neatly placed, with distant hints of the Beach Boys — and flared up from there, as the sardonic gave way to the unguarded, with the singers starting to shout and yelp as they pounded their instruments harder.
