Having grown up with my ears full of jazz, I picked up the sax at around age 14.
My instrument took me by the hand and brought me to the land of funk, soul and groove, which still today remains my true musical homeland...In 1997 I left France for Montreal, which was to become my home for the next 10 years. Inspired by the electro-organic music of the time, I very quickly started collaborating with house and hiphop dj's in clubs around town. While studying Jazz under the direction of Dave Turner and Geri Brown at Concordia University, I expanded my musical borders and became an active member of the thriving world-music scene, performing at several major festivals in Canada and Mexico, appearing on a number of albums and touring regularly. In the spring of 2007, music randomly brought me to the Yukon. Enchanted by the majesty of the Great Canadian North, and immediately welcomed by the music community as one of their own, I stayed in Whitehorse until the end of the year, long enough to record an album with Yukon icon Nicole Edwards and play a bunch of swing and soul-funk gigs around the territory...Back in France since 2008, I keep collaborating with Canadian artists from a distance and am involved in several local projects; I expect to be taking them to the stage soon. Stay tuned!..
