.. Porcelaintoy is an innovative two-piece band based in Wellington, New Zealand. Combining elements of trip hop, glitch and synthpop, Porcelain Toy is led by singer/composer Elizabeth Judd. The band was formed by Elizabeth in 2008, initially as 'Taboosister'. In 2009, she teamed up with electronica producer Emile de la Rey, with whom she had worked in the past as 'Sstimuluss'. Shortly after they were joined by Ross Walker, bassist, for their live shows. They are currently recording their first album, "Contrite Elegant Rebel" and performing shows throughout New Zealand. When performing live, Elizabeth often plays electric guitar or mandolin while singing. Emile uses a combination of Ableton Live sets, soft-synths and keyboards, and sometimes Ross plays electric or double bass..... Bio

Contrite Elegant Rebel is the formal album debut of Porcelaintoy, a richly evocative and innovative musical collaboration between Elizabeth De la Rey (vocals/guitar/piano) and Emile De la Rey (electronics).

Their song-driven sound assimilates aspects of a number of eclectic musical traditions, ranging from industrial pop to trip-hop to neo-classical romanticism to echoes of guitar driven art-punk and cinematic soundscapes.
