Jeune songwriter français né à Paris en 1986, Baptiste W. Hamon a d'abord sillonné les scènes françaises et norvégiennes sous le nom de Texas In Paris, pour son projet folk US aux paroles sombres et écorchées. Influencé par la poésie des textes des grands songwriters américains (Bob Dylan, John Prine, Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle) et en France par des artistes comme Barbara, Serge Reggiani ou encore Jacques Bertin, Baptiste W. Hamon écrit ses premiers textes en français au cours de l'année 2011. Remarqué pour la poésie simple et efficace de ses compositions et par son charisme scénique le rapprochant de Brel ou de Mano Solo, Baptiste W. Hamon a vocation à prendre une place précieuse et à part au sein de la scène musicale française. Repéré par le jeune label parisien Midnight Special Records, il participe à un Tape Recording à la fin du mois d'Octobre 2011, dont la Release Party a eu lieu le 12 Novembre au China, à Paris. Il entame une série de concerts avec l'artiste Cléa Vincent jusqu'en avril 2012.

De retour de Norvège, Texas in Paris aka Baptiste Hamon, commence à faire parler de lui dans les milieux indépendants scandinaves et au sein de la scène parisienne qu'il côtoie depuis 3 ans. Poète imprégné des concepts situationnistes, étudiant ingénieur, romancier, créateur du mouvement artistique "Ennuiste", Baptiste Hamon multiplie les facettes et sera à coup sûr, avec sa bouille de jeune Bob Dylan et un charisme désarmant, une figure incontournable de la scène folk de ces prochains mois.

After one year playing in the underground rock'n roll bars of Paris (Shebeen, Pop In, OPA), Baptiste left to Norway where he found the cold and lonesome atmosphere he was missing in Paris. And I must warn you right now : this band is great. Great, yep. Seing Texas in Paris live brings you back to the beginning of the 60s, when Dylan brought some fresh air among the musical scene of that time. With real talent, an impressive charism, and some provocative lyrics that sound like watchword (« Real punks ride horses »), Texas in Paris concerts -solo or not- are the best thing I could wish you for curing your current gloominess. It's just like you had crossed an early Dylan with an old Daniel Johnston, with a bit of Adam Green and Townes Van Zandt. And believe me, the combination is extremely promising. Looking forward to hearing a full record from that cool melancolic guy, definitely. He'll go far, just go and see him live to be sure of it.
