  • Bio

.. .. No one has had a recording career quite like that of Scott Walker. So who is he? ....The lead singer with the Walker Brothers, the group who, for a significant part of the 1960s, held the pop world in their hands; scoring a string of hits, including the number ones "Make It Easy on Yourself" and "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore;" breaking a million hearts in the process. ....The reluctant pop idol. ....The man behind a series of fashion-defying solo records released in the late-Sixties which, behind their numeric titles, hid a world of popular music, so strange and beautiful, that it still stands up today as some of the greatest ever recorded.....The existentialist who took the Jacques Brel song "Jackie" with its lyric of bordellos and authentic queers and phoney virgins into the singles chart, in the days when censorship ruled the broadcasting world.....The would-be crooner of standards with his own BBC TV show.....The popular artist who seemed unstoppable in 1968, but who, by the end of the following year, was unable to even make the charts.....The possessor of one of the greatest singing voices of all time, who now sees himself as having prostituted his art for most of the 1970s.....The avant-garde artist of today whose contrarily brilliant records defy categorisation, and who uses that voice so sparingly that he releases just one album roughly every ten years.....The answer is all of these. If you are new to Scott Walker quite some journey awaits you. ....(..Lewis Williams..)...... ......(Please note: this ardent but unofficial page is not in any way related to, sanctioned or endorsed by Mr Walker, his management, 4AD, Universal Music Group or any other approved agents. This is only a place for his admirers to gather and formulate their adoration and so on.)......

hi Scott glad to see you're on the terrifying internet (lol) but at least I can say this: I have been a fan since the late 90s (like most of my tastes) and I just loved our music to bits nd praise the fact it exsists outside everything else, no matter how much others try to do it... no one can hold a candle to you.

Just looking at the above 'Good for Nothin' I actually have this on vinyl and its very good, bearing in mind I have never heard a Scott song I have never liked, been puzzled over and nearly had a heart attck over yes but not did not like.
Watching Scott this morning on Youtube on the tv, I love 'No Regrets' his voice just seems to chill me out and feel very relaxed.

I am not one of the beautiful people but have been a Scott fan since 1965 and then saw him live in 1966, I have never seen or heard a singer who can compare  the emotions Scott arouses in me. I have just put on facebook that I would like to thank Scott with all my heart for the pure enjoyment he has given me, you have seen me through bad times, good times and difficult times but all I have had to do is listen to you and it all seems better. Thank you so very much. I have always wanted to see you sing live again but never got the opportunity and that and the fact that I could never meet you (although mere mortals know they never meet their gods) will always be the greatest sorrowss of my life. Again THANK YOU YOU ARE BRILLIANT. Love you always.
