Featured Album Releases:
.
Lykke Li- Wounded Rhymes- For her sophomore release, the Swedish starlet drew inspiration from several months holed up in Los Angeles’ Echo Park neighborhood. Li has called her new material “hypnotic, psychotic and more primal.”
.
Dropkick Murphys- Going Out In Style- For their seventh full-length, the Massachusetts celtic-punk mainstays roped in some big names. For one, they landed The Boss himself. That’s right, they got Bruce. They also got Fat Mike of NOFX onboard for what’s primed to be a killer new LP.
.
Beady Eye- Different Gear, Still Speeding– Liam Gallagher may have split from his brother Noel, hopefully ending the two’s notoriously contentious relationship, however that doesn’t mean the dude’s done making music. The three other Oasis members’ new band, Beady Eye, drops its debut LP.
.
Forever The Sickest Kids- Forever The Sickest Kids- Three albums in, and the Texas powerpop crew have finally delivered a self-titled release. We’re guessing you streamed it on Myspace earlier this week, but hey, there’s always room for seconds.

This week in music history: March 1-8

.
While you’re busy checking out all the new music that dropped today, it never hurts to take a peek back at what happened this week in year’s past. Say, for instance, did you know that Shaggy (pictured above) had two songs in the Top Five singles 10 years ago?! Or that CDs were unveiled this week in 1983? Yah, we thought not. So take a trip back in time and revisit all (good and bad) that’s happened in music during the first week in March.
