The first day of Bamboozle has been a work in progress for the past few years and 2011 was no different. In the past, the day has been dedicated to cover sets during the Hoodwink Festival, however this year Friday was a full-fledged show with plenty of headliners, old favorites and a few surprises tossed in as well.
    .
Rapper Sam Adams got the party started with a flurry of hip-hop anthems while Forever The Sickest Kids powered through jams off their recently self-titled LP. The real star of Bamboozle’s early hours however, was legendary soul outfit Boyz II Men who serenaded the audience with middle-school classics such as “End Of The Road,” “Motown Philly” and “On Bended Knee.”
    .
In fact, even the group themselves seemed surprised at the response, remarking at one point, “We didn’t know what to expect being here tonight and thank you for giving us such a warm reception,” They then proceeded to hand out roses out to some of the lucky ladies in attendance. (Today’s emo bands take note, this is the way that you impress a crowd.) Admittedly, it wasn’t as romantic when one of the members introduced “End Of The Road” by stating, “I’m pretty sure you made a porno to this.”

Katy Perry has filed a lawsuit against Australian magazine NW for claiming she cheated on husband Russell Brand. The publication ran a cover story last month detailing Perry’s alleged affair with producer Benny Blanco.
    .
Perry’s lawsuit, which was filed against the magazine’s publishers on Wednesday in Australia’s Victoria Supreme Court, claims the singer has been “gravely injured in her reputation and feelings (and) has suffered distress, embarrassment and humiliation.” Perry is pursing damages for this defamation, as well as aggravated damages, which would be worth a six-figure sum if she wins, according to PopEater.
    .
NW’s March headlines read “World Exclusive: Katy’s Other Man—Split Fears After Shock Revelation,” stating that Perry had an “intimate relationship” with Blanco, who has produced songs for her as well as Britney Spears, Ke$ha and Mike Posner. The story cited Perry’s “friend” Angela Summers and “insider” Marlon David, both of whom Perry says she’s never heard of.
