When Tupac’s Coachella hologram appeared at the festival earlier this year, the reactions were nothing short of mind-blowing so predictably now everyone is speculating on who else will be getting the virtual treatment. In case you couldn’t keep track of it all, we decided to post a little run down of who you might see come back to life over the next few years.

    .
In a recent interview with Billboard The Doors’ manager Jeff Jampol said he is hoping to create a “multimedia experience” featuring “lasers, lights, high-quality sound, vibrations and projected imagery” of the band’s frontman Jim Morrison who passed away back in 1971.
    .
The magazine also spoke with Jimi Hendrix’s sister Janie who said that she’s been working on her own virtual version of the guitar legend with a London-based company for about a year. “For us, of course, it’s about keeping Jimi authentically correct,” she said of the musical legend who passed away in 1970. “There are no absolutes at this point.”
    .
Digital Domain Media Group, the same company behind the Tupac hologram, has also announced that they are working on a virtual Elvis Presley that will be used for entertainment projects that range from TV to film and “multi-platform productions.” There is currently no word on when this will be completed as the company said they want to make sure they don’t rush the project.
    .
Despite protests form Queen drummer Roger Taylor, Queen performed with an “optical illusion of sorts” of Freddie Mercury for their special performance of “We Will Rock You” on May 14th. “It’s a little unfortunate they did that thing with Tupac as we’ve been trying to make Freddie appear on the stage for quite a while,” guitarist Brian May told the BBC earlier this summer. “[That technique] is something we’ve looked at ourselves, but I think probably for a show that runs eight shows a week it’s not really quite practical.”
    .
Other artists rumored to be getting the hologram treatment include Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez, Michael Jackson, Notorious B.I.G. and Marilyn Monroe, however none of these have been confirmed as of yet. So what do you think of the hologram trend and who would you like to see get the virtual treatment? Let us know in the comments section below as you listen to some Tupac Radio!
