In her first post-Harry-Potter offering, J.K. Rowling has shifted her sights from the YA audience to something more grown up. We reported earlier this year about her publication deal with Little, Brown and Company to write the new novel. Now, they have released the cover art and a synopsis for the story.
The book, titled The Casual Vacancy will be her first foray outside of the Harry Potter franchise since 2008, when she published The Tales of Beedle the Bard as a supplement to the series. The Casual Vacancy is scheduled to be released on September 27th, 2012, and will reportedly be 512 pages long. (How long did it take her to write this? OMG!) You can check out the cover art below, followed by the synopsis. Be sure and let us know what you think about this book in the comments below!

Official Synopsis: When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early forties, the little town of Pagford is left in shock. Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty facade is a town at war. Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils…Pagford is not what it first seems. And the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations?
wahahahaha
Will read. You do realize, Cherish, there's a 't' in them, unless you were referring to pants that are too long.
More fodder for the illiterate. You do realize, My Space, that you have users who are 10 times the writers this hack will ever be, yet you refuse to promote or support hem - while they promote and support you?
uhmm

She is one cute author, but I don't like the new cover of her book.
I read it as Harry Fairweather. I couldn't help myself. >.<
