Fortunately, by the time the name "ashtray service" bubbled up in our minds, we definitely didnot know about the SM game -so to call - "ashtray service". But to cope with the comparison, if this kind of "service" has to do with pleasure, ours is obviously hazier and far more heretical : course, this is about 4-track-lo-fi-pop-whatever-rock'n'new-folk-fuck'n'roll !!! This "Singing + smoking + drinking = sharing feelings" craze became kind of a motto/pathology, right from the day Coon and Antoni met a while ago, in the late eighties, last century, somewhere South of France. Where it all happenned. Then, in our late teenage years, separated by a borderline, these so many records we felt in love with remotely became alibis to gather around the warmth of this cute and sexy 4-track tape recorder. Then rises "ashtray service". A duet, plus folks [bob, danton , el poulpo] having a fuckin'good damn blast making songs. ......
