MISSIONS D'ANIMATIONS HUMANITAIRES
Depuis 2005, la scierie a tourné son regard et son écoute au-delà de l'Hexagone. Le collectif veut cultiver le nomadisme culturel en récoltant l'altérité à sa source. Seul ou en partenariat avec d'autres, nous organisons des projets à l'étranger en coopération avec des acteurs socio-culturels locaux. Nous proposons aux enfants des activités artistiques sous chapiteau dans un temps limité en vue d'une représentation devant la population. À son actif, le collectif La S.C.I.E.R.I.E compte deux réalisations autogérées.
En 2005 et en co-réalisation avec les associations T'es pas Chap ?, Hors la rue, et FRCCF; La S.C.I.E.R.I.E a participé à un mission d'un mois en Roumanie, dans les Carpates Transylvaniennes. Sous chapiteau, ont été mis en place ateliers, programmations musicales, théâtre-forum autour d'un programme de sensibilisation aux risques qu'encourent les roumains mineurs sans papier en situation d'isolement a Paris.
En 2009, le collectif a entrepris la traversée de la Méditerranée pour planter son chapiteau dans les villages du Haut-Atlas marocain durant deux mois ( Rich, Igly, Tazarine). En collaboration avec Tassaft, association pour la culture et le développement local, nous avons mis en place un programme de sensibilisation à l'hygiène bucco-dentaire, sous formes d'ateliers là encore (arts-plastiques, théâtre et mécanique), pour les jeunesses berbères. Différents pôles d'activités nous ont mené à la création d'un spectacle, proposé à la population alentours.
Actuellement, La S.C.I.E.R.I.E planche sur deux projets d'une trempe similaire : l'un nous conduirait au sud de l'Inde, le second dans les réserves amérindiennes du Quebec. Et toujours, bien sûr, avec notre outil phare...le chapiteau!


OUR WORK, OUR WAY
During our workshops in the Atlas Mountains in early 2009, we witnessed the passion and creativity of Berber children. That experience has inspired us, as a collective, to create new projects of a similar nature. This time, we turn our focus to India. Why India? Its richness, its needy children, its networks… and the challenge it represents. In addition, the project administrator already visited the area in 2007, and her desire to bring the chapiteau, tent, has captured our interest. Our first contacts and research determine where we will become involved: the suburbs of Delhi, descending gradually south until we reach the point, the Kerala. As of now, the project is still “under construction.” We are actively seeking local structures, such as schools and associations, which are interested in our project and are ready to collaborate with our collective. This preliminary visit from January to March 2010, will allow us to meet and exchange with potential collaborators, interested in becoming a part of this adventure. We also hope to establish a trusting relationship with them, so when we visit in 2011, we will be able to welcome children to our tent for several hours a day, over a period of several weeks. The children’s participation in (theater, circus, music and visual arts…) workshops will allow us, together, to all take part in putting on a show. The members of the Scierie collective, who guide these workshops, bring varied and different experiences; some of us put on theater, others do mechanics, create huge murals, or even make instruments with objects at hand… It would be ideal to integrate a team of circus actors in our project. When it comes down to it, nothing is more beautiful than the smiles and gaze of a group before jugglers or a pair of clowns. During this initial visit, we need to find a theme for our future workshops and creations. Using this theme in our work under the tent, we will be able to create links with and to educate about “sensitive” issues: the environment, hygiene, nutrition… Our choice in theme will be guided by the people we meet and positions we find ourselves in during this visit… This big project, which we hold dead, will see the light of day…and the more of us who invest ourselves, the bigger, better and more magical it will be.
