Il tombe amoureux de la chanson française lors de sa participation aux Rencontres d'Astaffort chez Francis Cabrel. Marcel commence alors à travailler avec des paroliers de qualité (Brice Homs, Valérie Haie, Luc Tallieu, LAK et plus tard s'ajouteront Martine Chenoz, Martine Pratte (Canada) et Michel Lefebvre (Belgique)) .. .. Le résultat est un répertoire de chansons françaises avec des clins d'oeil outre-atlantique (James Taylor, Norah Jones). Des paroles originales, des chansons douces, une voix suave, Marcel commence à se faire connaître en remportant plusieurs prix aux tremplins et concours en France et à l'étranger. .. .. ..- Prix Sacem "Jeunes Talents", premières parties Rose, Patrick Bruel, Amber Rubarth (2007) ..- Prix du public "concours de la chansons française" à Amsterdam (2006 ) ..- Lauréat "concours Utopia" catégorie composition, sortie album "rencontre" (2005) .. Marcel Van Dam is a dutch guy singing french in France since a couple of years now. He works with several authors (Brice Homs, Luc Tallieu, LAK, Valérie Haie, Martine Chenoz, Martine Pratte (Canada) et Michel Lefebvre (Belgique)) and composes his songs. These songs are mainly acoustic ballads which remind of James Taylor or Norah Jones, his main influences. .. .. -
