SPRING 2012 - FRESH NEWS !Dear Followers,
As you are our informal stock investors, and our sound portfolio exists solely for you (and your ears), Record Makers owes you a note to catch you up on this psych-drowned-four-to-tha-floor-electro-economy in which we operate.
Since every proper account summary begins with a balance sheet, have a glance at our status report and check out our latest major releases, stamped 2011.
California could only resist the pull of record makers for so long. Piper Kaplan and her sister Skylar of Puro Instinct are the first made in LA inductees to join the Record Makers family. Singers of a resolutely psychedelic pop, the two adolescents (16 and 24 years old) released “Headbangers In Ecstasy” last winter, unleashing unto the world a 15-track reverie, where spectral vocals and ethereal guitars wind about in delightful harmony.
It was by the exit of one of their concerts in LA, on a detour through a somber road, that Record Makers and Driver would cross paths. The official soundtrack of Nicolas Winding Refn’s “Drive” would park itself shortly after the film’s release in the Record Makers music catalogue. Among the many synth melodies of the CD/Wax; a revival: “Nightcall” by Kavinsky.
Even though the last EP of Hypnolove, “Holiday Reverie” came out just before the summer 2011, marked by San-Diego beach accents and the colors of UV soaked bikinis don't think Record Makers set sail into an infinite vacation. With a new EP from Acid Washed serving as our aperitif, 2012 can truly begin.
And as for what to expect for the coming months? The future of Record Makers might coincide with the future of a blue humanity with the release of “My God Is Blue”, Sébastien Tellier’s new album. A sign that marks a maturation as artistic as it is spiritual, this opus is envisioned as a pedestal for a project much larger in scope named “L'Alliance Bleue” ("The Blue Alliance). Worshippers, listen to the messages of the Blue God and you will be guided towards an eternal happiness.
One worshipper, Kavinsky will certainly sit on the same conceptual plane with his electro-80s music in an ethereal overlap, for his first album approaches, set to be announced this year. Produced by SebastiAn.
And our final wishes, that we all, Record Makers included, long to know: the next albums of Hypnolove and Acid Washed set to release this Fall...
The Record Makers team sends our love. Love through music.
