En 2004, à la recherche d’une nouvelle manière de concevoir le rôle de bassiste et d’élargir ses connaissances, il commence l’apprentissage de la contrebasse par le biais de l’Ecole professionnelle de jazz AMR-CPM et en repart en 2007 avec le diplôme. Plongé dans cette atmosphère axée sur l’improvisation et l’interaction, son oreille progresse sur le jazz et tous ses dérivés, grâce aussi au piano qu’il exerce comme second instrument, et à des travaux d’écriture d’arrangements pour grands orchestres.
En parallèle à ses études, il travaille comme musicien professionnel dans de nombreux projets de scène et de studio. C’est aujourd’hui son activité principale.
Voici son parcours :
Dès 2001: il travaille avec le groupe Timegrid (métal progressif), et collabore avec d'autre projet comme la Chorale du CUP (gospel) ou Chris Matthey (rock instrumental). Il accompagne la chanteuse Ester Val pour une série de concerts et un album.
Dès 2005: la formation P.U.S.H. (pop/rock), dont il fait partie, prend de l'ampleur. Début d'une période avec des dizaines de concerts et quatre albums. Intégration dans des formations comme le Patricia Tondreau 4tet (latin-jazz) et Nicole Leu (chanson).
Dès 2007: il crée son premier projet personnel: YMB 4tet (jazz/groove) et travaille occasionnellement pour Pandorga (samba/jazz), United Sounds of Jazz (big band), Simongad (pop/rock), Licia Chery (soul/folk).
Il rejoint par la suite le groupe de Claude Delabays (chanson/jazz), le Stéphane Mayer Trio (jazz), la chanteuse Sand avec une longue série de concerts et plus récemment le groupe de Pierre Lautomne (folk/blues).
Il a récemment enregistré un morceau pour Petula Clark, et accompagné dans des émissions télévisées d'autres grands noms de la chanson française comme Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine ou Hélène Segara.
